A Classic, Blush Wedding at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois
Robyn-Ashley Hall (31 and a corporate attorney) and Maurice Taylor (31 and a hedge fund analyst) wanted to evoke the feeling of summer with their sophisticated garden fete. From the bridesmaids’ subtle, floral print gowns to custom signage that featured white magnolia prints, the details created an effortless garden vibe throughout the day. “Managing details like that can be time-consuming, but once we saw it all come together, we knew the hard work was worth it,” Robyn-Ashley says. In keeping with the theme, Robyn-Ashley's dramatic ball gown boasted layers of delicate tulle in shades of blush, peach, white and yellow. She finished it with a Swarovski crystal–studded belt. "History is important to us, so we used the same knife set my parents used more than 30 years ago at their own wedding,” Robyn-Ashley says. They cut into a lemon-and-apricot-infused cake. She later surprised Maurice with a basketball-shaped groom’s cake with fondant add-ons that celebrated his hometown of Detroit.
