A Classic Black, White and Gold Wedding at World’s Fair Pavilion in St. Louis, Missouri

Melissa Liepins (28 and an optometrist) and Eliot Masek (30 and also an optometrist) met in Chicago while Melissa was in school and Eliot was on his residency. For their wedding, the couple chose St. Louis because it was a nice meeting point for her family in Chicago and his family in Missouri. After seeing the swoon-worthy arched doorways and breathtaking park views, they knew they wanted to exchange vows at World’s Fair Pavilion. Melissa and Eliot chose black, white and gold as their color palette for a classic, timeless look throughout the day. Brian, from Rebel Florist, created all of the English garden-inspired floral arrangements with roses, hydrangeas and hypericum berries. “We wanted to achieve a classic look, arrangements you might see displayed in the White House while making sure they could withstand the breezy pavilion,” Melissa says. The best part, though, was the filet mignon dinner from The Butler’s Pantry. “We still get compliments on our plated dinner of filet mignon that were so tender that could be cut with a butter knife,” Melissa says. “Our caterer really outdid themselves cooking 100 steaks perfectly.” At the end of the night, they enjoyed a gorgeous white and gold fondant cake decorated with white peony sugar flowers from Sugaree Baking Co and danced into the night to Elite Pro DJ.
