A Classic, Black-Tie Wedding at the Loeb Boathouse in New York, New York

After meeting and falling in love in New York City, it made sense for Alexis Conoscente (29 and in financial services) and Gerry Mignardi (30 and in financial services) to wed in the city where it all started. "We started our life together here in New York, so having our wedding in the city we love was one of the easiest decisions we ever made," Alexis says of their formal fete. With a romantic yet timeless aesthetic in mind, the couple looked to the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park for their cocktail hour and reception. "It was only the second venue we visited, but it so effortlessly combined the quintessential New York feel that we wanted with the natural beauty of the park," Alexis says. After exchanging vows at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola just a few blocks from their apartment, Alexis and Gerry posed for photos in the park before joining guests on gondola rides around the lake. "It was such a unique touch and our guests loved it," Alexis says. Lush, anemone-filled arrangements and mercury glass vases lent a romantic feel to the scenic reception space, but music and food mattered most to the couple. "We hired an amazing band [The A Band of NY], and they kept our guests dancing throughout the night," Alexis says. "Growing up, I always pictured my dream wedding. But the reality was so much more than anything we could have imagined."
