A Classic Black-and-White Wedding at Sanctuary Golf Course in Sedalia, Colorado
Lindsey Nixon (27 and a merchandise planner for Neiman Marcus) and Edward Bogel (27 and a commercial real estate broker) met in college at Texas A&M University through mutual friends. Seven years later, Edward proposed over dinner at The Mansion Bar on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Texas. The couple decided to have a destination wedding at Sanctuary Gold Course in Sedalia, Colorado. “My parents golfed there and fell in love with it,” Lindsey says. “A week after we got engaged we flew up there to see it and booked it. We always liked the idea of a destination wedding. Edward and I are out of town almost every weekend of the year visiting friends and family, attending weddings, etc., so having our wedding away seemed fitting for us!” They wanted their day to be classic and timeless, so they used a black-and-white color palette and added a little rustic flair with log aisle decor, wicker baskets and cowboy boots for the groomsmen. Afterwards, they had a long cocktail hour to catch up with all the guests before dinner. “Everyone was outside enjoying the absolutely stunning sunset,” Lindsey says. “We had everything to drink from champagne to whiskey, and heavy appetizers to accommodate the lengthy time.” Not wanting a long dinner, the couple designed all the food to be eaten on the go (no plates needed!) so the dance floor would fill up quickly. They danced into the night to their favorites: rap, pop and country.
