A Classic Ballroom Wedding at The Inn at Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina.

Kristi (34 and a professor) started chatting with Michael (38 and a an entrepreneur) online and started dating a few weeks later. On a snowy December day, Michael took Kristi to Wake Forest University and proposed on the quad with a two-carat vintage engagement ring that she had previously admired. "The quad was covered in snow and was just breathtaking," says Kristi. "I was taking a picture on my phone of the snow covered chapel and when I turned around, Michael was on one knee!" Drawing inspiration from their university engagement, the couple planned a black and gold affair at the The Inn at Palmetto Bluff. The destination wedding took place in a non-denominational church followed by an antebellum ballroom reception. "The chapel's pews are made of wood reclaimed from 9/11," says Kristi. "As a native New Yorker, this was very special to me!" Guests then celebrated with a refined reception complete with a five-course dinner and a gourmet S'mores bar. The most personal aspect of their big day were Kristi and Michael's two dogs—from a custom doggie bridesmaid dress to puppy photo ops. "Our dogs are by far the most important things in the world to us and we wanted to incorporate them into the day," says Kristi. "They couldn't attend the reception so my mother had a custom groom's cake commissioned that was a replica of both dogs!"
