A Classic Ballroom Wedding at the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta, Georgia

Even though Leslie Gardner (29 and a teacher) and Frank Herron (29 and in sales) first met at the University of Mississippi, they didn't start dating until after they graduated. The pair reconnected during a mutual friend's wedding—they were both in the wedding party—and shortly began dating. Frank surprised Leslie by proposing in the middle of her kindergarten class. "Once a month, we have a 'mystery reader' come read to our class," says Leslie. "Mystery readers are parents who come surprise their child and the front office always just buzzes our room to inform us that our mystery reader has arrived. I don't always know who it's going to be which is why Franks proposal was flawless!" After Leslie recovered from her shock and confusion of Frank walking into her classroom with a book in hand, the couple spent the next seven months planning their classic fall celebration. The couple exchanged vows during a traditional wedding at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta, Georgia followed by a timeless ballroom reception in Buckhead, Georgia at The Grand Hyatt Hotel with a cobalt blue, ivory and green color palette. As a contrast to tall flower arrangements filled with hydrangeas, roses, stock, electric blue delphinium and calla lilies, certain tables were decorated with clear cylinders filled with submerged flowers. In honor of their alma mater (and where they first met!) the groom's cake was in the shape of a University of Mississippi Ole Miss Rebel.

"My wedding dress is the perfect cross between a ballgown and an A-line dress," says Leslie. "It was diamond white satin and heavily beaded with silver thread and a sweetheart neckline."

Leslie and Frank's Georgia Wedding
"I have been a member at Mt. Bethel for 24 years and both my sisters were married there, so I knew I would be married at Mt. Bethel as well!" says Leslie.
