A Classic Ballroom Wedding at St. Louis Grand Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri
Although they had a number of common friends growing up, Jessica Hahn (26 and an anesthesiologist assistant) and Joseph Kister (26 and an anesthesiologist assistant) didn't meet until they were freshmen at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. They met at a school-organized freshman retreat where Joseph invited Jessica to go for a walk and eventually worked up the courage to ask her to the homecoming dance. Five years later, he asked her to marry him during a romantic hot-air balloon ride. "As the balloon was ascending, I looked down and saw a huge 10-by-100-foot banner that read "Will You Marry Me?" Jessica says. "I didn't believe the banner was for me, but when I looked over to see if Joey saw it, he was down on one knee with a beautiful engagement ring." When it came time for them to plan their wedding, Jessica was drawn to a classic aesthetic for their ballroom affair. They brought this vision to life with soft white hues and timeless accents of plum and lilac. —Meghan Overdeep
