A Classic Art Deco-Inspired Wedding at The Elm Street Center in Greensboro, North Carolina
Zoe Chamberlain, 28, a special education teacher, and Michael Nulty, 27, an entrepreneur, grew up together in Greensboro, NC. They met in middle school, Michael had just moved from Beacon Falls, CT and landed in Greensboro, NC. Zoe was the first smiling face he saw at Jamestown Middle School and she would become his first new friend. They remained friends through middle school, high school and even attended North Carolina State University together. While Michael had always had a "secret" crush on Zoe, they never dated during those 11 years. They fell out of touch for a period, but on a visit to Raleigh to visit her sister, the two reconnected and things escalated from there. On January 17, 2014, Michael, in front of the Biltmore House (the site of their first date), got down on one knee and asked Zoe to spend the rest of her life with him. For their wedding, the couple planned a classic, elegant affair with touches of art deco glam. A simple black and white color palette was chosen for the day with touches of champagne and gold for just a hint of glitz. Finding a space that could comfortably hold all 335 of their guests, proved to be quite easy. Both the College Place United Methodist Church and Elm Street Center in Greensboro comfortably accommodated all of their family and friends and fit perfectly with the day's style. Ivory roses and hydrangeas were the blooms of choice for the soiree and added a traditional, romantic touch to the décor.
