A Classic, Art-Deco-Inspired Wedding at Columbia Ballroom Columbia Station, Ohio
The black, white and gold color palette brought the wood interior of this historic ballroom venue to life, creating the ideal ambience for this art-deco-inspired wedding with a rustic twist. Marina Tipton (20 and a professional hairstylist and makeup artist) and Scott Wenning (26 and an IT director) knew they wanted to have their wedding ceremony at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Columbia Station, Ohio, where Scott attended services growing up. Marina’s Mori Lee wedding dress was in a ball-gown style, accented with beads on the front and back of the deep V-neckline. Invitations embodied the classic color palette and old-fashioned vintage design, giving guests a glimpse of the theme they would witness on the wedding day. The reception was at the historic Columbia Ballroom in Columbia Station, Ohio, a dancing hall built in 1931. Twinkling lights, paper flag banners and tulle drapery decorated the walls and high ceilings of the space, with elegant chandeliers hanging over dining tables. We loved the intricately decorated stage at the front of the room, with hanging fabric pomanders surrounded by string lights and draped linens. Right in front of the stage was a clearing on the wood floor, making room for the couple and their loved ones to dance the whole night. “The music and dancing reflected us as a couple," Marina says. "We love dancing and spending time with our friends and loved ones, many of them being great dancers. Put it together and you get our wedding."
