An Elegant, Intimate Wedding on the Napa Valley Wine Train

For their intimate yet formal wedding, Darina Voloshina, Blake O'Connor and their 36 guests first attended a classic outdoor ceremony. Then they boarded the Napa Valley Wine Train for a  1920s-inspired "safari style" reception, which hinted at the couple's honeymoon destination of Kenya. "The train we chartered had two separate train cars," Darina says. "One open-air car had a long bar in the middle and some wine barrels as cocktail tables that we decorated with tons of flower arrangements and twinkle lights for the evening dance party. The other was an indoor dining car." The couple put white linens, flower bouquets and mercury glass candles on each of the tables. Most of the décor was DIY, including the animal place cards and menu cards. "On the back, they had a map of the route we were taking through Napa so guests could follow along," Darina says. Each guest received a mini suitcase filled with truffles. They drank champagne and ate cheese, had a four-course meal, then danced the night away on the outdoor train car. Darina stunned in an elegant and simple gown with a cathedral veil embellished with beads and crystals. Her bridesmaids wore light blush silk slip dresses. Both Blake and the groomsmen looked dapper in classic black tuxedos. 
Our favorite #MakeTradition moment: "For our first dance, we actually did a flash mob with our wedding party," Darina says. "We walked out onto the dance floor of the train and started your typical first dance—on a moving train mind you—and then about one minute into the dance, the beat picked up and our bridal party jumped in. This turned into a crazy-wild dance party until 11:30 p.m."
