A Christmas-Themed Wedding at The Phoenix Ballroom in Waco, Texas

Erika Benolken (22 and a homemaker) and John (Duke) Ness (35 and an oil corporation safety representative) met through mutual friends. Their first date was a trip to Las Vegas: John picked up Erika in his yellow Corvette, and they have been together ever since. The couple wanted to get married in a traditional ballroom. “I have been a Christmas fanatic since childhood, so it was only natural that I would have a holiday-themed wedding,” says Erika. The Phoenix Ballroom in Waco, Texas was the perfect canvas for their Christmas-themed celebration with its large fireplace, elegant chandeliers and exposed brick. Red, white and gold glitter filled the space, from stationery to linens. Flowers included a mix of red roses, white calla lilies and giant poinsettias with a mix of evergreens and red winter berries. Cocktail hour included an open bar with a signature peppermint martini for a touch of holiday cheer. Towards the end of the night, the DJ brought out a karaoke machine and everyone danced and sang along to the music.
