A Chic Traditional Wedding at Cathedral Oaks in Belton, Texas
Brittany Moore (26 and a teacher) and PJ Burns (28 and who works in the oil and gas industry) first met in the summer of 2008, at Tarleton State Universtiy. Brittany was taking summer classes there at the time and PJ had just transferred from another school. The two became friendly, but the timing wasn't right for anything more, but six years later PJ finally took the plunge and asked Brittany out — the rest is history. PJ planned a romantic proposal during the couple's Christmas trip to New York City. After a carriage ride and walk through Central Park, PJ led Brittany to a rocky ledge overlooking the snow covered park. "We smiled for a picture and when I turned around PJ was on one knee asking me for my hand in marriage," says Brittany. For their wedding, the couple went for Southern elegance with a touch of romance. Cathedral Oaks in Belton, TX could not have been a more perfect setting for the affair. The manicured lawns and majestic oak groves provided an intimate, serene spot for the couple to exchange vows. Adding to the innate beauty of the scenery, the couple lined the aisles with a dusting of pink rose petals and dressed up the ceremony chairs with playful pink ribbons and lush arrangements of garden roses and hydrangeas. Chamber music played softly in the background to set the tone for the event and Brittany's show-stopping Maggie Sottero gown was the epitome of romantic. For the reception, the couple brought their guests inside to the venue's Grand Ball Room for a night of dinner and dancing. Lush arrangements of pink and white flowers, textured metallic table runners, pink and white linens and a scattering of ivory pillar candles atop silver candlesticks gave the room a feminine appeal that was both romantic and chic.
