A Chic, Southern Wedding at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina

Megan Presutti (25 and a dental student) and Tomek Charowski (28 and a dentist) met during Megan's first year at dental school when Tomek was assigned as her anatomy tutor. It was not long before Tomek invited Megan to dinner and their relationship really grew. On the morning of Megan's 23rd birthday, Tomek made her breakfast in bed and attached a small package to their dog's collar. When Megan went to open the box with the ring inside, Tomek was already down on one knee. They chose to have their wedding at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Suites in Charleston, SC. "It was very laid back and we wanted to just celebrate with our friends and family," Megan says. Megan's favorite color is yellow so she knew she had to include it in the colors of the day. Both Megan and Tomek are Pittsburgh sports fans and, with all Pittsburgh teams being yellow and black, decided to use a yellow and gray with seafoam green color palette. "We were calling our style 'Charleston chic,'" Megan says. White flowers and votive candles created a warm ambiance for the indoor reception. On one of their first dates, Tomek bought Megan a handmade rose made from a palm leaf that was made by a local street vendor in downtown Charleston. They decided to create place cards out of these palm roses. "We really loved highlighting the city where we fell in love," Megan says. Megan and Tomek's wedding was truly a day that reflecting them as a couple.
