A Chic, Rustic Wedding at Water Tower Lodge in Rock Island, Illinois
Scott Walker (30 and a territory manager with John Deere) and Erin Walker (28 and a physical therapist) met at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and dated for five years before Scott proposed. They started their first big adventure together moving from Illinois to Denver, CO. After preparing their first Thanksgiving meal together, Scott and Erin took a trip to Steamboat Springs where Scott planned a snowshoe trip for the two of them. On their way, Scott suggested they stop to take in the view. There, with the sunset and beautiful mountain view in the background, Scott got down on one knee and proposed to Erin. Scott and Erin chose to get married in the Ascension Chapel at Augustana College where they first met. Their reception was at the nearby Water Tower Lodge. "We chose the reception venue because it gave us a beautiful area to work with and transform into what we wanted," Erin says. Their theme was rustic chic. "Since we live in Colorado, we were determined to bring in a more natural, rustic look, but we also wanted to keep it chic," Erin says. The mountain landscape, woods environment and curly willow bouquets created a rustic look, while chevon patterns and white and gold accents added to the chic decor. Their color palette was sea foam green, navy, coral and gold. Gold and white chevron table runners, seafoam green napkins and navy menus completed the table settings. Scott and Erin's wedding kept to their midwestern roots with a rustic environment but was dressed up with chic details.
