A Chic Outdoor Wedding at Hammock Bay in Freeport, Florida

Nicole Davis (26 and a store manager) and Stuart Davis (27 and manager of a landscaping business) met in high school but didn't begin dating until eight years later, when they each revealed the secret crushes they had on one another the entire time. After only six months, Stuart knew Nicole was the woman he was going to marry. In May 2013, they planned a beach day together, but Stuart claimed he had to visit a job site and they'd need to change plans, instead suggesting they go to a private beach close to the site. While walking on the beach, Stuart stopped and told Nicole to turn around. When she did, she saw the words "Will you marry me?" nailed to a nearby tree. Nicole then turned to find Stuart kneeling in the sand with the ring. Later, upon inspecting the words on the tree, Nicole realized Stuart made them from candies she used to take from her late grandfather's pockets when she was a young girl. They decided to have an outdoor wedding at Hammock Bay in Freeport, Florida, which happens to be where Stuart's supposed job site was on the day of their proposal. "We had an outdoor shabby-chic wedding and reception on the grassy pasture in front of the Hammock Bay clubhouse," Nicole says. Nicole's favorite color is gray, so she included that in her color palette, brightening things up with hints of cream and yellow. "I went with succulents and craspedia, which really popped against the shades of gray and white," she says of her florals. She incorporated those elements into her reception centerpieces as well, adorning farm and round tables with her cheerful arrangements and adding a romantic touch with tealight candles.
