Clean lines and classic florals with overflowing greenery filled Elizabeth (Liz) Murray (28 and a boutique owner) and Caleb J.W. Jones’s (30 and works at ID&C) wedding day, which included an elegant Friday night ceremony for a small group of friends and family followed by a seated dinner. They also hosted a larger, more festive Saturday night reception.
“We have a lot of friends but wanted an intimate ceremony with a rowdy reception, so we did a split ceremony and reception so we could experience the best of both worlds,” Liz says. “Looking back we would highly recommend this.” The Friday festivities included plenty of candles, the couple’s favorite “not so healthy foods,” like French fries and pigs in a blanket, and the classic cake cutting.
“When I saw the Romona Keveza dress with a detachable skirt and gold belt, I was sold,” Liz says of her ceremony look.
“Oxford Exchange doesn’t need much to look amazing,” Liz says of sticking to a clean, less-is-more aesthetic. After the ceremony, guests found their names on escort cards crafted from old photographs. “We went into a hidden room so we could see their reactions,” Liz says of the photos. “It was great!”
The couple cut into three different cakes, including a gluten-free vanilla confection made especially for Liz.
