A Chic Low Country Wedding at the Cooper River Room in Mt Pleasant, South Carolina
When it came to planning their later October wedding in Mt Pleasant, SC, Jessie Suggs (27 and a dentist) and Ryan Robinson (29 and a dentist) were all about keeping it simple. The pair used a color palette of white, cream and ivory hues to achieve a classic and effortlessly elegant look that allowed the setting and the sentiment of the day remain the focus.
The day unfolded with and outdoor ceremony in the heart of Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park. The Cooper River and acres of perfectly manicured open space provided a striking backdrop for the couple’s “I dos,” with a convenient location to boot — just a few steps away lay the Cooper River Room. Jessie’s uncle officiated the ceremony, lending the occasion an extra personalized flair and “The Question” by the Old 97’s, the song Ryan used to propose to Jessie, played as the couple made their way down the aisle.
Creating a casual environment for the reception was key for the newlyweds, who ditched the idea of assigned seating and encouraged guests to make themselves comfortable. With its innate Low Country charm, the Cooper River Room required little in the way of decor. Carriage lanterns, ivory votive candles and fresh bunches of white hydrangeas topped crisp white linens, working with the room’s elegant aesthetic to achieve the understated chic look Jessie and Ryan were after.
After dinner there was plenty of fun to be had, between busting a move out on the dance floor where Lee Edwards Entertainment spun all night long and Finger Snappin’ Entertainment’s funky photo booth.
