A Chic Garden-Inspired Wedding at Legare Waring House in Charleston, South Carolina

Heather Price (36 and works in pharmaceutical sales) and David Parsha (44 and a program director) chose Legare Waring House in Charleston, South Carolina, for their amazing garden-inspired wedding. “Legare Waring House is a truly magical place to be in person and feels like a peaceful retreat one would go to in order to escape and restore calm,” Heather says. “Besides the gorgeous 1840s-style house you drive up to, we knew as soon as the guests walked around to the back of the house and saw the beautiful lagoons and the breathtaking Avenue of the Oaks, that they would be floored. It is a larger-than-life, magical place that inexplicably still manages to create the intimacy needed to cater to a conservative guest count of 98 people. From this, we knew it was the one.” Wanting to bring the garden romance to life, the couple worked with florist Justin of JW Events and event planner Something to Celebrate by Sara Cavallon to bring their “something between an English garden and perfectly elegant” vision to life. We absolutely love the different-size wooden farm tables at the reception that were topped with different kinds of amazing centerpieces including towering branches that accented the crystal chandeliers and smaller arrangements with cascading ivy. Don’t even get us started on the hanging glass terrariums dangling from the trees adding twinkling romance or the working fountain in the middle of the reception that centered the ambience perfectly. “We feel like the overall look was that of peace, tranquility, elegance and a little fun—okay, a lot of fun—added in there for extra measure,” Heather says.
