A Cheerful Spring Wedding at Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Inspired by her favorite bloom, Jessica Johnson (35 and a physician) and Derek Thigpin (34 and a gastroenterologist) paired modern black-and-white accents with punchy pops of yellow. “We wanted it to look fun and approachable without feeling too stuffy,” Jessica Says of the day’s cheerful design.

As a nod to the spring season, the day was filled with fresh bunches of bright yellow and white gerbera daisies, garden roses, peonies, tulips and craspedia.

As a result of spending her undergraduate years at the University of Michigan, Jessica chose Ann Arbor as the setting for their spring celebration. “I still can’t get Derek to root for the Wolverines, but he’s come to love the city of Ann Arbor,” she says.
