A Charming, Rustic Wedding at the Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia

Aileen Legg (28, elementary school teacher) sat a few rows behind Lloyd Bayliss (25, accountant) in a class at Radford University. She messaged him through Facebook, saying how she couldn’t concentrate in class because she kept getting distracted by his good looks. The pair became inseparable throughout college and dated for six years. Aileen had specifically instructed Lloyd not to propose to her at a restaurant because she thought it was cheesy, so that’s exactly what he did to surprise her. The couple decided to get married at the Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia. They had an outdoor ceremony with the Blue Ridge Mountains as their backdrop and an indoor reception at the stable with a white canopy, chandeliers and string lights. Their color palette was ivory, blush and taupe and their flower arrangements included roses, hydrangeas, lysimachia, dusty miller, and eucalyptus seeds. Centerpieces were arranged in window boxes and other flower arrangements were composed in watering cans and mason jars. Their rustic decorations included wooden signs and signs on window panes and barrels acting as tables. Aileen and Lloyd gave their guests CDs of their favorite songs as wedding favors, which were packaged in chalkboard covers. Fittingly for this mountaintop wedding, the newlyweds’ getaway car was an ATV. Aileen and Lloyd’s mountainous vineyard wedding was rustic and charming, a treasured memory for themselves and their guests.
