A Charming Multicultural Wedding at Briscoe Manor in Richmond, Texas

A last-minute venue cancellation was all the motivation Julianne Huynh (30 and an educator) and Paul Howard (29 and a wealth-management advisor) needed to book Briscoe Manor a mere eight weeks out from their wedding date. “I asked my sister if we could even pull off a wedding in just two months,” Julianne says. “She said it would definitely be crazy, but not impossible.” Despite a condensed timeline, Julianne and Paul managed to make their rustic-elegant fete look effortless. “We wanted to keep it simple,” Julianne says. The couple’s guest list was massive, with 400 family members and friends joining in on the festivites. The morning of their nuptials, Julianne and Paul wed in a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony before saying “I do” at the manor’s on-site chapel. Julianne’s brother performed “Butterfly Kisses” on the guitar as their father escorted the bride into the room, making for an emotional processional. “My father and Paul’s stepfather are ministers, so we had them pray for us after we lit our unity candle and joined hands as one,” Julianne says. Verdant garlands and wood accents created a decidedly rustic vibe. Prior to the start of a surprise fireworks display, guests received party favors in the form of homemade white-cheddar-cheese popcorn with tags that read, “Let’s Get This Party Poppin’.” “It’s become our signature snack,” Julianne says. A fresh spring of rosemary at each place setting made for a “very aromatic reception,” Julianne says.
