A Charming, Fall Wedding at Linganore Winecellars in Mt. Airy, Maryland
Alexandra Moulden (23, research assistant) and Brian Cockerham (26, software engineer) met in college. Brian had come over to Alex's sorority house to study with her friend. Alex's friend gave Brian her number. On their first date at a restaurant in Georgetown, a waiter asked them if they were engaged. "I guess the waiter knew we were meant to be," says Alex. Brian proposed to Alex on his birthday with an asscher cut diamond ring. Brian's mother suggested a vineyard wedding, and when Alex and Brian happened upon the Linganore Winecellars they knew it would be the perfect place for them to get married. They held both their ceremony and reception in the vineyard's Abisso hall, a barn style hall with high ceilings and wood walls. The venue was illuminated with dramatic string lights and a lighted curtain backdrop for the altar. Since the wedding colors were blue and brown, the tables were set with light blue linens and centerpieces were arranged with tall vases of blue hydrangeas and branches. Alex and Brian had a popcorn and candy bar at their reception in addition to a tiered arrangement of cupcakes. They also had a small, gluten-free lemon buttercream cake as their wedding cake. This vineyard wedding was beautiful and distinct with its unique, blue and brown color palette and cozy, charming decor.
