A Charming DIY Wedding at the Fort Lee Officer's Club in Fort Lee, Virginia

Dustin Sadler (28 and a lineman for Dominion Virginia Power) and Nicole Hopkins (23 and an RN) met through a mutual friend on a night out. They had a humorously rocky first date but learned enough about each other to realize they belonged together. Dustin and Nicole knew they wanted to have an outdoor wedding and chose the Fort Lee Officer's Club. The outdoor area and pavilion provided the perfect setting for their soft canary yellow and gray color palette. The ceremony was decorated with lanterns and Canary yellow pedals scattered down each side of the isle. There were 6 different flower arrangements on white pedestals under the pavilion and an arbor decorated with Canary yellow, gray and white flowers. Dustin and Nicole introduced their guests directly to the reception after the ceremony where they were immediately treated to a buffet style dinner. At the reception, lanterns decorated amidst yellow and gray flowers lit the reception tables alongside custom Etsy table numbers and place settings. A special treat of "his" and "hers" drinks included bourbon with ginger and vodka with pineapple. Dustin and Nicole had a slot on their RSVP card for guests to list songs they enjoyed dancing to so the DJ made his playlist based on their responses to really make sure everyone had a great time! The DJ also put up lighting for the dance floor and additional perimeter lighting during dinner and the notable dances in the wedding colors of yellow and white. He even had special lights that changed the color of the dance floor which was an exciting touch that balanced well with the soft color palette.
