A Casual Wedding at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis, Missouri
Annie Childerson (22 and a boutique manager) and Zach Walter (23 and a marketing and account manager) met at Greenville College in Illinois and became engaged within a year. The couple was in the middle of a long distance relationship when Zach proposed in Annie’s favorite park on a visit for her birthday. They celebrated with family and friends soon after and began to plan their wedding. Over the next 8 months, the couple chose a vintage theme and decided on the Sheldon Concert Hall as their venue. “With concert row seating, over 100 year old woodwork, and gorgeous stained glass windows we knew this was where we wanted to start our lives together,” says Annie. Blue, gray, pale yellow, pale green and coral completed their color palette. Annie and Zach decorated their ceremony stage with a simple white fabric covered table. After the couple said “I do,” their 150 guests moved to the venue’s vintage atrium for their a cocktail hour. They were also asked to sign Jenga tiles as a guest book. “Both of our families love board games and this was a unique touch that we love to display in our home,” says Annie. Her, Zach and their wedding party joined the rest of the guests for the reception. Round white linen covered tables were accented with blue satin and lace table runners as well as white rose or lantern centerpieces. Each black chair was also met with a white lace sash. For a personal touch, the couple’s DIY table numbers included pictures of themselves at different ages. Once each guest found his or her place, they were served a buffet dinner from a local restaurant and miniature cupcakes for dessert. For future couples, the bride has a piece of advice. “Live in each moment and soak up every second of the big day!” she says.
