A Casual Wedding at The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Grand Key in Key West, Florida
Six years from when Caitlin Thompson (27) and Jordan Fletcher (29) met at T.G.I. Fridays, Jordan popped the question. He got down on one knee as the couple was walking back from the beach. With just under a two year engagement, the couple had plenty of time to plan their beach wedding. They chose the The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Grand Key as their reception venue. With the Florida Keys as their backdrop, Caitlin and Jordan complemented the space with a tropical theme. Palm fronds as well as a coral and aqua color palette helped their theme flow from the ceremony into the reception. Caitlin and Jordan had an intimate beach wedding on Smathers Beach surrounded by 38 friends and family members. The summer day was accented with large pink sea shells along the aisle and a fun palm fronds and tiki torch arch. Passionate Kiss, Caitlin and Jordan’s festive signature cocktail, greeted their guests as they moved into the cocktail hour. “It was a mix of passion fruit juice, pineapple juice, rum, peach liqueur and blue curacao,” says Caitlin. The couple served a seated meal as well as three-tiered ivory wedding cake topped with a white peony and coral roses. Each guest left the celebration with a token of the tropics. “For the guest favors, we bought key lime starfish cookies from Key West Cakes. We put them in clear bags with edible sand and dark chocolate seashells and key lime chocolate turtles,” says Caitlin.
