A Casual Waterside Wedding at the C.J. Brown Reservoir in Springfield, Ohio
Alixandria Wells (25 and an elementary school teacher) and Joel Good (26 and a physical therapist) grew up together, but they didn't start dating till their junior year of high school. They were voted "Cutest Couple" their senior year, and they even sat next to each other during graduation. Though they went to different colleges, they always kept in touch and wrote letters to each other, during the good times and the bad. In the week leading up to his proposal, Joel wrote Alixandria love letters every day. Expecting a proposal by the end of the week, Alixandria was floored when she came over on Thursday for their weekly TV nights and found Joel down on one knee, surrounded by candles and flowers. Alixandria accepted the round cut sapphire ring and Joel's heart. The couple were wed at the C.J. Brown Reservoir in Springfield, Ohio in an idyllic outdoor ceremony by the water. The bridesmaids wore purple dresses in the styles and shades of their choosing, and the groomsmen wore purple dress shirts with gray slacks. Most of the decor was provided by friends and family, including the mismatched wooden chairs at the ceremony to the vintage tableware at the reception. "Our friends and family spent a lot of time crafting and going to yard sales and thrift stores that summer!" says Alixandria. The centerpieces consisted of a variety of wild flowers in different size vases. The reception featured a "Goodie" candy bar as a play on the newlyweds' last name, and for dessert, the couple's wedding cake was surrounded by a variety of cupcakes for guests. This casual, waterside wedding was absolutely lovely with its DIY details and vintage touches.
