A Casual Waterfront Wedding at Village Creek Landing at St. Simons Island, Georgia
“It was a destination wedding but still in the state of Georgia—that was important,” Lindsey Lane (27 and an interior designer/owner of Lindsey Lane Design) says of her wedding to Daniel Zevnik (29 and a private equity investor). They wanted to celebrate near the beach, and fell in love with the quaint St. Simons Island for their intimate, laid-back celebration. They said “I do” in a picturesque little white chapel, Lovely Lane Chapel at Epworth by the Sea, which was the perfect size for their small guest list. Later, everyone took the St. Simons Trolley over to their waterfront reception venue, Village Creek Landing, where Lindsey used her interior design talents to bring the comfort of a backyard to her outdoor reception. “I wanted my entire wedding to feel like everyone spent a day at the beach and then showed up for a wedding,” Lindsey says. String lights and lanterns illuminated the wooden gazebo and ivory tent, filled with hand-painted pillows, champagne and ivory linens, wooden folding chairs, a hanging moss chandelier and even decor pieces from home. The talented Emily Sharp, owner of Emily Ellison Studio, brought in lush white flowers and greenery to enhance the timeless neutral palette. A bonus of having a waterfront wedding? At the end of the night, Lindsey and Daniel made their grand exit on a boat. According to Lindsey, “My wedding day was magical. It was just like any other day, and then all of a sudden I was putting on my wedding dress.” See the details, beautifully captured by Willett Photography, below.
