A Casual Waterfront Wedding at Craidelonna Lodge in Shirley, British Columbia, Canada

Michaela Cribb (29 and a nurse practitioner) and Jose Ceballos (41 and a health educator) met while working in an emergency room. While they didn't get along at first, once they became friends, it wasn't long before they started dating. The couple had a casual, intimate wedding at the ocean-view venue Craidelonna Lodge in Shirley, British Columbia. "We wanted our wedding to feel less like a formal event and more like a family gathering," Michaela says. The beautiful, heartwarming event was airy, with a soft yellow and purple accents. Michaela walked down the aisle in an ivory linen dress she bought in Spain and had a seamstress embellish with antique lace rosettes. Jose dressed simply in khaki trousers and a white linen guayabera shirt, which he wore with a yellow freesia boutonniere. Guests sat on benches covered in pillows as they watched the couple pledge their love to one another. The reception was held nearby in a covered patio area, where simple white tables were decorated with burlap runners and purple and yellow wildflowers and paper cutout banners had been strung across the room. Since Jose is from Mexico, many of the details at the wedding reflected his culture, like the fun pinatas of the bride and groom that hung from the ceiling. Michaela and Jose's was a stunning summertime soiree.
