A Casual Rustic Beach Wedding at a Beach House in Destin, Florida

After meeting in Missouri, Tiffany Burks (28 and a nurse) and Aaron Carmichael (31 and a safety coordinator) had their first date on the Fourth of July and later got engaged the following New Years Day during a romantic dinner in Appleton, Wisconsin. “It was simply perfect in my eyes. Poor Aaron was about as nervous the entire time,” says Tiffany. He proposed with a custom cushion-cut diamond ring in a wide band from LC Betz. The couple spent their next year and a half planning a casual beach wedding in one of Tiffany’s favorite vacation spots, Destin, Florida. “It didn't take long for us to agree that a beach vacation was the perfect setting for our wedding. We wanted a barefoot ceremony next to the water at sunset,” she says. Their color palette of green, pink and coral was inspired by mint Gianni Bini bridesmaids found by the bride. Tiffany and Aaron accented their beach ceremony with a grand burlap and white chiffon draped bamboo arch and 50 white folding chairs. “My main goal was to have an equal amount of feminine and masculine decorations,” says Tiffany. After the couple said “I do,” all moved to their rented beach house for a poolside reception filled with southern cuisine from Sonny’s BBQ and music from their officiant who doubled as a DJ. Each friend and family member found his or her seat at a round table was accented with burlap and lace wrapped mason jars, succulents and candles. “We had so much fun that night, it flew by. Before we knew it, they were playing the last song,” says Tiffany. For future couples, the bride shares: "Get a wedding planner! I loved my wedding planner and it took all the stress out of it. The day of was smooth sailing and I was able to enjoy every minute."
