A Casual, Natural Wedding at Camp Mont Shenandoah in Millboro Springs, Virginia

Sarah King (28 and a park ranger) and Matt Whalen (25 and a marine ecologist) met while they were both studying at the College of William and Mary. Matt proposed to Sarah with her grandmother's ring while they were touring tide pools off the coast of California. This outdoorsy couple decided to get married at Camp Mont Shenandoah in Millboro Springs, Virginia, where Sarah had worked previously. Their wedding was simple, casual and rustic with a nature inspired color palette of blue, white and green. The ceremony took place outdoors under a canopy of trees along the river. The rustic reception was decorated with burlap banners featuring the couple's monogram, flower arrangements of purple and white roses and wildflowers and chalkboard signs on wood slabs. Guests were invited to sign photos of the couple that Sarah and Matt planned on displaying in their house and given small jars of local honey as favors. After waltzing through their sparkler exit, the newlyweds invited their family and friends to continue the party at Sarah's parents' farm. "There was a bonfire and fireworks, and the merriment lasted until we crawled into our tents to sleep under the stars."
