A Casual, Natural Backyard Wedding in Lake Leelanau, Michigan

Jess Daniel and Donny Hart invited guests to their new home in Lake Leelanau, Michigan, for a casual  backyard wedding. A colorful invitation suite with  typography and watercolor artwork introduced guests to the celebration, which kicked off with a simple outdoor ceremony. The couple stood underneath a wooden arch and the wedding party took their places on either side. Jess wore a bohemian A-line wedding gown with appliqué on the bodice, as well as a colorful floral headpiece. Donny chose a gray suit with a bold graphic bow tie. After the ceremony, guests consulted a colorful DIY seating chart sign to find their reception seating. They sat at wooden dining tables with eclectic runners, white taper candles and vintage glassware. Jess and Donny shared their first dance in a wooden barn to the sounds of live music. The backyard soiree also included a Chinese tea ceremony with traditional attire, a motorcycle ride for the newlyweds and a dessert spread with cookies and tarts.
