A Casual, Industrial Elopement at Albany Pump Station in Albany, New York
Shortly into Jami (32, an administrative assistant) and Nathan's (27, employee insurance counselor) first conversation at the bar where she was bartending, they realized that they shared a birthday. "He promised to take me out for coffee the following week, but we couldn't wait that long to see each other again and we went out for dinner the next night," recalls Jami. "The conversation flowed so easily and we laughed so often that it felt like we had been together for years." Jami knew quickly that she wanted to marry Nate—he just had to ask. And ask her he did! A year after they started dating, Nate proposed in their home with the help of their dog, Lyric. Not wasting any time, the couple planned their casual, no-frills wedding day in just one month. The quirky, industrial backdrop of their favorite local brewpub, Albany Pump Station, provided the setting for their intimate offbeat day.
