A Casual Elopement at Rockwater Secret Cove Resort in British Columbia, Canada
Jamie Urquhart (27, an Administrative Assistant) and Desmond Cobble (29, a Laborer) met in high school when Jamie was in 10th grade and Desmond was in 12th grade. "He thought I was pretty, and got my email from a mutual friend so we could start chatting via MSN messanger. It never really went anywhere, so we lost touch when he graduated. In 2007 a mutual friend of ours invited me to a Superbowl party, and Des was there. He says that the moment I walked through the doors he knew, although he never talked to me that night. A few weeks later, we all went to a local bar for drinks and dancing. Des and I were standing side by side in the lineup to get into the bar, and he noticed I was cold and lent me his coat. We spent most of the night talking. At the end of the night, Des asked for my phone number and we've been together ever since!" Jamie recalls. The couple got engaged at Desmond's Godparent's house in Madeira Park. The couple chose to have a small elopement at the Rockwater Secret Cove Resort in British Columbia, with a casual and relaxed ceremony and reception. "I think the fact that we eloped really reflected who we are as a couple. We wanted the day to be casual and relaxed, and eloping helped us achieve that. We knew that there was no way we could elope without having our parents and siblings there, so we made sure that they could be there to share the day with us," Jamie recalls.
