A Casual DIY Wedding at Fossil Trace Golf Club in Golden, Colorado
Jackie Pifer (37 and a nurse) and Robert Haines (36 and works in account management) met through mutual friends. He proposed at a Kansas City hotel in front of a giant Christmas tree with a beautiful vie of the Plaza lights. Almost two years later, Jackie and Robert exchanged vows at Fossil Trace Golf Course. The ceremony took place on the green next to a small pond with gorgeous views of the mountains. Instead of a unity candle, the couple planted a tree together for a more personal, rustic tradition. They wanted their wedding to be casual and comfortable, so they let their wedding party wear whatever they wanted. Jackie even wore sparkly silver Vans for her outdoor wedding. Directly after the ceremony, the newlyweds took a spin in a golf cart for a few minutes alone before the reception. The indoor reception was decorated with paper flowers and battery operated branch lights for a little DIY flair. Jackie also made her fabric flower bouquet with lavender chiffon, brown burlap and white lace flowers. Das Meyer Bakery made the fall-inspired three-layer cake complete with yellow sugar flower leaves cascading down the front. At the end of the night, the couple and their guests took shuttles into downtown Golden for the celebration to last into the night.
