A Casual DIY Beach Wedding at a Private Residence in Sanibel, Florida

Jessica, a health and wellness coach and entrepreneur, 26, and Douglas, a computer programmer, 30, had a casual wedding on the beach in Sanibel, Florida. Their wedding colors were inspired by peacocks the couple saw while golfing. Teal, green, gold as well as shades of blue and purple were used throughout the wedding. Their boutonnieres and bouquets for the day were made by the bride and her mother from silk flowers and peacock feathers. "It was special to spend time with my mom deciding on the types of flowers and being creative with them!" says Jessica. The ceremony aisle was also lined with a handmade seashell path. As both enjoy the outdoors, the couple ensured their unity ceremony had a calm ocean view. Jessica, Douglas and their guests then moved to the backyard of the private residence for a reception surrounded by palm trees and greenery. "We both wanted to have our guests enjoy the paradise of sunny, tropical, southwest Florida beaches," says Jessica. They served sunset sangria and various hors d'oeuvres such as shrimp, sweet chili chicken and stuffed mushrooms. The couple and their guests danced the day away to a familiar sound. Chris Stevens from CS Entertainment was the DJ at the couple's reception as well as Jessica's sweet sixteen. "It was a special to have him there to perform at another great milestone in life," says Jessica.
