A Casual, Country Wedding at a Private Residence in Woodbine, Maryland

Ashton Sullivan (23 and a teacher) and Michael Sullivan (25 and a maintenance mechanic) grew up down the street from each other. They dated on and off during high school, but they didn't get serious until their junior year of college. One day, Ashton and Mike got into an argument during a drive down a country road. Mike pulled over and told Ashton to come dance with him in the middle of the road so that they could let go of the argument. A few months later, Mike called Ashton and told her his car broke down. When she came to pick him up, she realized that it was the same spot in which they danced a few months earlier. Mike got down on one knee and proposed to Ashton with a lovely princess cut ring. For their wedding, Ashton and Mike decided to stay true to their country roots. Their casual, rustic wedding took place at Ashton's grandparents' farm in Woodbine, Maryland. The bridal party wore cowboy boots and carried bouquets of sunflowers with their teal dresses, and Mike looked handsome in jeans and a brown vest. Ashton accessorized her beaded, trumpet style wedding dress with turquoise jewelry and wore a fingertip veil. Ashton and Mike were married under a wooden wedding arch with billowy white drapes, and sunflowers in pails on wood stumps lined their aisle. Seating on bales of hay was provided for cocktail hour, and the reception had sunflowers arrangements on wood slabs with horseshoes and cowboy boots. This bright, country wedding was casual and fun as guests celebrated the happiness and love between Ashton and Mike.
