A Casual Beach Wedding at the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Marco Island, Florida

Tina Carpenter (27, an early intervention specialist) and Dan Denoncourt (27, a NASCAR fabricator) first met as teenagers at the Amelia Park Ice Arena in Westfield, Massachusetts. Tina, 15, was working when Dan, 16, came to play ice hockey. They soon began to date and started their lives together. About three years later, the couple moved to North Carolina so Dan could pursue his passion of building cars for NASCAR. Tina and Dan finished school, started their careers and purchased their first home before he proposed in 2012. The couple had returned from an annual hike on the Blue Ridge Mountains when Tina started to get dressed for a special dinner out. “Dan called from outside our closet and asked me to wear something,” says Tina. “As I walked out, half changed, he was down on one knee and asking me if I would ‘wear this forever.’” She saw the ring and accepted. The couple were wed one year later on Marco Island, Florida, in front of 55 friends and family members. Their wedding was decorated in shades of coral and white with turquoise accents. "The things that best reflected us as a couple were the elements that broke tradition a bit or showcased a little bit of everything," says Tina. Specifically, the couple had personal touches through their DIY wedding decor and custom vows in their ceremony.
