A Casual Beach Wedding at Casa Marina, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, in Key West, Florida

Six years after Megan Pisano (29 and an interior designer) and Steve Pisano (32 and in finance) met in her aunt’s backyard, he popped the question with an iPad box. The couple was exchanging Christmas presents in their apartment when Steve proposed by putting a princess-cut diamond ring in the box and dropping to one knee as Megan opened her gift. “Instead of being speechless, I could not stop talking. I couldn't believe it. It was a very special day that we will never forget,” she says. Over the next 15 months, the couple and Simply You Weddings worked to plan a fun beach wedding accented with white and pops of color. “I love the beach and being in the sun. It's a calming feeling,” says Megan. Accentuating their natural view, Megan and Steve decorated their palm-tree-lined ceremony space with white folding chairs and a simple white aisle runner. After they exchanged vows, the couple went for a trolley ride with their wedding party as 72 guests moved toward the Casa Marina’s patio for a sunset cocktail hour. Two hours later, each friend and family member found his or her seat attached to a colorful lollipop and took a place at the reception among white-linen-covered round tables. White paper lanterns hung overhead as each table was topped with white calla lilies in cylinder vases and a simple wooden block table number. All enjoyed dinner overlooking the water before Megan and Steve treated their guests to an assortment of desserts that included a mini cake topped with orchids, mini key lime pies and chocolate mousse. “The entire day was us. Everything represented us as a couple: the beach, the sun, the playfulness and the simplicity,” says Megan. “Because it was a small wedding and a destination wedding, we were able to spend time with each guest.”
