A Casual Backyard Wedding in Mt. Washington, Massachusetts

Erica Webb and Jeff Stockton planned a destination wedding on a beautiful mountain lake in Mt. Washington, Massachusetts. "Our inspiration was 'summer camp vibes' and the natural environment, along with creating spaces for loved ones to have experiences together," Erica says. The outdoor ceremony took place on the grounds of an estate. Some guests sat on simple wood benches, while others casually perched on rocks along a hillside. "We weren't expecting any ceremony décor, but a friend took leftover flowers and made the sweetest tiny bouquets for the benches and stumps. We also used wood we found to create a loose aisle," Erica says. The outdoor reception continued the low-key, bohemian theme of the day. Guests sat at an assortment of picnic tables beneath string lights, where they dined on pizza from a food truck. The place settings included thrifted flatware and dishes and hand-dyed napkins. Boho blooms in painted mason glasses added a pop of color. "Most of the flowers were purchased by the bucket from a local farm. We wanted to limit the environmental impact of our floral choices and support the community we were in. We were very lucky to have friends with the floral arrangement chops to put everything together for us, combined with plants found on the property," Erica says. For dessert, everyone dined on a rustic semi-naked wedding cake, along with an array of pies and cupcakes made by guests. Erica stunned in a bohemian A-line dress with gold woven throughout the fabric, a simple updo and velvet sandals. Jeff chose a lightweight wool suit in a dark blue shade, mustard-hued suede shoes and a floral tie.
