A Casual Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Yachats, Oregon
Emily Cashell (29, a teacher) and Joe Tremblay (34, also a teacher) both moved to Daegu, South Korea when they were teaching English to students in school. They worked at different schools owned by the same person, and Emily and Joe first met at an event being held for everyone at Ariana Brau restaurant. At the end of the gathering, Emily and Joe exchanged numbers and over time started to date, traveling around the world with one another. On a trip to the Philippines, the couple went kayaking to a secluded beach in El Nino, where Joe got down on one knee and proposed to Emily. The newly engaged couple decided to have their wedding at Joe's parents home in Yachats, Oregon right near the coast, with natural beauty being the main decor. Relatives from Korea came two weeks prior to the wedding to help prepare for the wedding day. Joe's sister-in-law took care of the food menu, while Joe's aunt created Emily's flower bouquet made up of purple hydrangeas and pink roses. "Family and friends are very important to us, and it was such a wonderful thing to have every aspect of the wedding be so personal and meaningful," says Emily. "It was truly a celebration of our love, and how authentic we aspire to be with each other, each and every day."
