A Casual Backyard Wedding at a Private Residence in Eugene, Oregon

Chrissy Brammer (31, a sales assistant) and Jake Childs (33, a specialty metal fabricator) were introduced through a mutual friend at a karaoke bar, where Chrissy was sold the minute Jake showed her the puppy in his truck. After the couple had been dating for four years, Jake proposed to Chrissy and went out the next day to pick the ring together. The couple had a wedding right in their very own backyard for an intimate, casual occasion with close family and friends. Jake built a large deck to have the dance floor on, with a frame to hang curtains on and had set up string lights. Wooden boxes made of pallet boards were filled with flowers and used as centerpieces, along with other small details that contributed to the rustic theme the couple envisioned. Chrissy didn’t officially choose a wedding dress until the night before the wedding, which was designed by Oleg Cassini accented with lace and beads. Jake wore a button-up shirt, vest, and jeans, along with a pair of cowboys to complete the casual and comfortable outfit. “We really just wanted our family and friends to come and feel like they were at a backyard party with good food, games, dancing and amazing company,” says Chrissy. “Everyone still says our wedding is the most fun one they've ever been to. Mission accomplished!”
