A Bright, Whimsical 90s-Themed Wedding at a Private Residence in West Windsor, New Jersey

Julia Coppock (32 and a marketing director) and Blair Levin (30 and freelance furniture builder and designer) met while in high school, where both of their mothers happened to be teachers. They realized their romantic feelings for one another in college and dated for almost ten years before Blair proposed. They got engaged on the Fourth of July with fireworks in the background as Blair got on one knee and gave Julia a gorgeous vintage ring from the 1930s. Too excited for a long engagement, they were married in just three months, with Julia explaining how she "wouldn't be able to think about anything else as long as they were planning the wedding no matter how much time they gave themselves, so they might as well go for it!" Without much time to book a venue, they decided to get married in Blair's parent's backyard in West Windsor, New Jersey with an intimate guest list of fifty friends and family members. The couple wanted to incorporate a bright color scheme with 90s kitsch to play off their fun and quirky personalities. Julia made most of the decor, including the tissue paper flower bouquets and pinwheel centerpieces, while Blair contributed by making the patterned bottles to hold the pinwheels. Julia also made most of the desserts, like the owl cake pops, bourbon balls, and chocolate-dipped Oreos. Instead of a traditional tiered cake, Julia and Blair ordered a German sheet cake from a local bakery and decorated it with a My Little Pony cake topper. Plenty of friends also contributed to the wedding, like Blair's best friend who made the wedding chuppah and the couple's next door neighbor from Brooklyn who catered the reception. All in all, the wedding was colorful, unique, and tremendously befitting of the couple, who "love having fun, keeping things casual, and dancing to the beat of our own drum," they say.
