A Bright Wedding at Hyatt Place in Garland, Texas
When Toni Camilla Williams (27 and a catering/sales manager) moved to Garland and transferred to North Garland High her freshman year, she nervously went to her first class, gym, where she met the handsome basketball-playing Beau Barclay (30 and an engineer). A little while later, Toni learned about the upcoming school dance and secretly hoped Beau would ask her as she had yet to meet anyone else. Unfortunately, he decided to take another senior, so she found another date (and ended up making Beau quite jealous!). Toni and Beau lost touch, Beau graduated, and they didn’t reconnect until running into one another at the local Target, where Beau was working. Knowing better than to miss out on an opportunity the second time around, he asked her to go with him to a party, and the rest was history. After dating for several years, Beau proposed on Christmas surrounded by family at Toni’s grandmother’s house. Toni knew right away that she wanted to get married at her first place of employment, Hyatt Place in Garland, Texas, explaining, “I have lots of wonderful memories there.” Inspired by a bright, citrusy color scheme of green and yellow, Toni and Beau threw a vibrant wedding celebration with real fruit and burlap elements. Since Toni did not care too much about flowers, she filled tall glass vases with apples, lemons, and drooping branches for natural-looking centerpieces with wood slabs and burlap table numbers. All of the bouquets incorporated a small amount of bright yellow flowers with sparkly silver brooches and white fabric flowers for texture. At the reception, Toni and Beau had plenty of lively entertainment for their guests, including traditional folkloric dancers in colorful costumes, a photo booth, and a bride and groom shoe game.
