A Bright Vintage-Inspired Mountain Wedding at The Northstar Lodge in Truckee, California

This vintage wedding with a rustic twist had the perfect mountain setting that the Lake Tahoe area tends to be known for. Becky Denniston (27 and in sales) and Tim Driscoll (28 and in recruiting) weren’t able to get married right on the lake because of their large guest list, but the couple found everything they were looking for at The Northstar Lodge in Truckee, California. “The Lake Tahoe area is very meaningful to us since we've spent many weekends there at my parents' cabin,” Becky says. The ceremony took place outside by the tall standing resort made of stone and wood, complementing the rustic wedding arch decorated with hanging frames and small colorful flower arrangements, all captured by Rachel Goble Photography. Becky originally thought she wanted a classic color palette of champagne, black and white, but once she found her wedding dress, she realized she wanted more pops of color -- orange and purple, to be exact. From the vibrant Tory Burch shoes to the chrysanthemum and rose bridesmaid bouquets and linens that decorated dining tables at the reception, this wedding was anything but lacking in color. What caught our eye were the brooch pieces Becky decided to incorporate into wedding decor to add some vintage flair. “I love the vintage look of wrought iron,” Becky says. “My bouquet was a combination of brooches and flowers to give it an elegant look. I brought a few pieces, which inspired my birdcage centerpieces.”
