A Bright Travel-Inspired Wedding at Castle Green in Pasadena, California
This colorful wedding with travel-themed decor celebrated the couple’s love in every bright hue imaginable! Ever since Gina Lee (32 and a strength-and-conditioning coach) and Vincent Wong (33 and a strength-and-conditioning coach) first set foot inside the historic Castle Green in the old town of Pasadena, California, they knew it was the elegant venue they had been searching for. The ceremony took place on the outside lawn surrounded by the beautiful exterior, where vibrantly colored pinatas decorated the aisle and bright paper flowers covered the wedding arch. The indoor reception took guests back in time with the venue's historic architecture and decor, repurposing the colorful pinatas from the ceremony into dining table centerpieces. All the details of the day were captured by D. Park Photography. Vince comes from a Chinese background while Gina is Korean, and they wanted to incorporate both their cultures into the dinner menu. Steamed dumplings and Korean-style sushi was served at the cocktail hour, followed by miso-glazed sea bass and Peking duck entrees. The couple went beyond their own cultural backgrounds and celebrated many others through their escort cards: paper boats with little flags displaying the guests' names and their tables, which were named for different countries around the world. “We wanted to make our wedding day not only about us but also about our guests who played a role in our lives,” Gina says. “We really wanted them to feel special by creating a wedding day atmosphere filled with fun music and great food!”
