A Bright Summer Backyard Wedding Anniversary at a Private Residence in Germantown, Maryland
While working at Big TV, Luciano (37 and in construction) was hired as en employee of Marcelle (34 and a chef). At the time, Marcelle was still engaged to another man, but she soon broke off the engagement. She started dating Luciano later that same year and decided to make the big move to the United States. They lived together for twelve years before Luciano proposed at a show, where he played Bruno Mars's "Marry Me." After a year of marriage, Marcelle and Luciano decided to celebrate their first wedding anniversary in a backyard ceremony in Germantown, Maryland with one hundred of their closest friends and family members. A big fan of the color pink, Marcelle got Luciano to agree to a bright and festive pink and gold color palette with matching pink shoes. Instead of a traditional wedding party, they decided to walk down the aisle with their two children. Since the first anniversary is traditionally themed around paper, a breathtaking dessert table featured individual sweets nestled in paper flowers (and even one that looked like an oyster shell!). The menu also consisted of a bright and extravagant appetizer table with hand-carved fruits, jumbo martini glasses with fresh watermelon, and a selection of cheese and crackers, along with a full Brazilian barbecue. The three-tier wedding cake featured a figurine cake topper of a bride and her singing groom as a nod to Luciano's heart-felt proposal. During the reception, guests could choose from an assortment of whimsical props to dress up for a special photo booth. Marcelle and Luciano held their first anniversary in style with a paper theme that Marcelle takes to mean, "The future is a blank paper on which we can write and draw what we want. And what I intend to do is write a future with much love, care, and understanding."
