Heather Rosenlund (27 and a teacher) and Doug Tyler (28 and a video editor) met while working together at a store. While the two started out as co-workers, their relationship blossomed into something more over the years as they got to know each other, friendship and laughter turning into a proposal and an intimate wedding with their closest family and friends at their sides. "We’ve experienced and grown through many monumental life changes early adulthood brings together - career changes, college graduation, moving in together, and so on," says Heather. "It wasn’t much of a surprise after seven years together that we got engaged, especially as many of our friends called us the ‘old married couple’ already." Doug proposed during a weekend getaway to Point Reyes. "We were walking on the beach after having a picnic lunch and the next thing I knew he was on one knee asking me to marry him! As I knocked him over with my enthusiastic yes, a wave crashed in. It was perfectly simple and romantic," says Heather. The couple planned an intimate, rustic affair set against the striking natural landscape of Jack London State Park. "Our vision for the wedding was for it to be as simple and uncomplicated as possible," says Heather. "We wanted the day to be about us and our commitment to each other and to reflect the life we live." They brought together 60 of their closest family and friends for an intimate celebration filled with bright colors and lots of natural touches that highlighted the locale.

The kraft paper wedding invitations set the tone for Heather and Doug's intimate outdoor affair. The natural paper gave the invites a rustic feel, while a mix of quirky fonts and decorative touches introduced a note of playfulness.
When Doug proposed to Heather, he presented her with a unique custom designed ring made by an artist he found on Etsy. The thin band was molded from a real twig and featured an impressive emerald cut stone. "The combination of nature and sparkle was an inspiration for our wedding," says Heather.
Heather carried a bright, loosely gathered bouquet of wildflowers in vibrant shades of purple and orange, which complemented the wedding's natural setting.
Keeping things on the more casual side, Doug sported a dark gray suit and a purple checked button down shirt with matching tie for the event.
Doug adorned his lapel with a bright wildflower boutonniere made from delicate purple blooms and wrapped with rustic burlap string.
A string ensemble played softly in the background as guests arrived to the ceremony, revving things up when Heather made her entrance.
The couple capped off their guest list at 60, ensuring an incredibly intimate day shared with their closet family and friends.
Heather's aunt arranged all of the day's flower arrangements. For the tables she pulled together lush bunches of vibrantly hued wildflowers and an assortment of dried pods.
Heather and Doug sent their guests home with bunches of honey straws, favors that highlighted the wedding's locale as well as the season.
