A Bright, Rustic Wedding at Gabriel Springs in Georgetown, Texas
Kristen Baker (26 and works for Boy Scouts of America) and Bradley Falatko (25 and works for Boy Scouts of America) met at a professional training at one of the national properties for the Boy Scouts of America. “It was almost love at first sight,” says Kristen. “After a seven-hour trek up a mountainside during a day off from training, our story soon began.” At the time, Kristen was living in Austin, Texas and Bradley was living in Peoria, Illinois, so the couple traveled back and forth for a year until Bradley found a career opportunity in Dallas. On one of Kristen’s visits to Dallas, Bradley decorated his apartment with Kristen’s favorite flowers, made a framed picture collage of the couple and read her a sweet letter before asking her to marry him. The couple knew they wanted to be wed outdoors in the Hill Country, so they chose the Gabriel Springs as their venue. Coral pink and mint green added pops of color to the outdoor ceremony and rustic venue. Being from Texas, Kristen wanted to have rustic flair throughout her wedding, so the couple incorporated decor such as vintage bottles, barrels, lanterns and freshly cut wooden slabs. They served classic Texas barbecue and locally brewed beer and wine at their reception, followed by Bradley’s vision of a dessert table filled with a plethora of the couple’s favorite sweets. From planning a wedding to the day of, Kristen says to enjoy every moment. “Do not stress over the little things, it will always come out better than you ever imagined!”
