A Bright DIY Wedding at the Grand Hall in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Erin Plazek (24 and a software developer) and Sean Schellinger (24 and a software engineer) met at the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Although they had similar majors, they didn’t meet until a mutual friend from Sean's baseball team introduced them. After two years, Sean proposed to Erin with pink, red and white M&Ms that were personalized to say "I love you" and "Will you marry me?" He gave her a princess cut diamond ring on a white gold band. Erin and Sean got married at the heavenly Assumption Church in Bellevue, Pennsylvania, which is Erin's church. Since the wedding was so soon after Easter, the altar was decorated with Easter flowers. The reception was held at the Grand Hall at the Priory in Pittsburgh. The venue is a renovated church with high ceilings, giant pillars and stained glass windows. Sean and Erin's color scheme was pale blue and gold. Mini cupcakes baked by Erin acted as escort card holders. She also baked and decorated the beautiful lemon flavored wedding cake herself. The centerpieces were vases of different heights with floating candles and gold and white pearls. The bride and her mother popped and packaged caramel corn for wedding favors. This colorful, inspired wedding was impressive and memorable with its DIY decor and desserts.
