A Bright Contemporary Wedding at Viansa Winery in Sonoma, CA

Serena Lim (27 and an assistant buyer at Charlotte Russe) and Jonathan Lee (27 and works in corporate development at Yahoo!) met when they were only four years old. Their parents had been friends in high school and went to the same church in San Francisco. Despite their early acquaintance, the two didn't become close friends until they were in high school. It was Serena who finally got the nerve to ask Jon out when they were about to leave for college. And despite three years of long distance and demanding first jobs, the couple knew their relationship was the real deal and managed to stick it out through it all. After almost six years of dating, Jon finally popped the question. For their wedding the couple chose a bold, cheerful color palette of orange, gray and white. Playful bright floral arrangements with a fresh mix of fragant blooms in spice jars and milk glass added a burst of color to the reception decor, while a chic sprinkling of votive candles added a warm, romantic glow to the elegant tented pavilion reception space at Viansa Winery in Sonoma, CA. Instead of having a separate Chinese wedding banquet, as most Chinese-Americans do, Serena and Jon decided to incorporate small details into the wedding that were a nod to their roots. The couple set up a special dessert table during the reception offering an array of Asian specialty treats like Pocky sticks, Yan-Yan snacks, Haribo frog gummies, and Hi-Chew candies that were a huge hit with their guests.
